Short walk/climb to Paritutu Rock.
There is a car park right below the rock. For the first half or so there are stairs and then the more difficult part starts. From this part onwards you will find steep rocks and chains installed to increase your safety. This section to the top is never too difficult but you will need to use your hands to help you on your climb.
Pretty soon you are at the top enjoying the magnificent views 360 degrees. Straight view of Waikaranga, Motumahanga and Moturoa islands
Coming down could be a bit more daunting since you are looking down the rocks.
You cannot miss this place if you ever come to New Plymouth.
